Details: In the 1860s, travelers to the gold fields of Colorado had few choices when planning their route. The Smoky Hill Trail was the shortest. In 2006, a historic marker was placed on Smoky Hill Road recognizing the trail (Aurora Landmark #22). Learn this exciting story from historian Peter Faris. Bring a lunch. $4 ($3 Aurora residents)

The cost is $2 per item (except for computer monitors, which cost $8 each, and televisions, which are $15 each). Electronics will be recycled by Metech International (formerly GRX), one of the states premier electronic waste recyclers. The event is sponsored by Environment Aurora, a citywide effort to think green.

Location: Aurora Municipal Center southwest parking lot 15151 E. Alameda Parkway
Details: Both Aurora residents and non-residents may bring DVD players, computers, VCRs, stereos, printers, fax machines, cell phones, microwaves, small appliances and more to be recycled. The cost is $2 per item (except for computer monitors, which cost $8 each, and televisions, which are $15 each). Electronics will be recycled by Metech International (formerly GRX), one of the states premier electronic waste recyclers. The event is sponsored by Environment Aurora, a citywide effort to think green.
